Note about Kayce. Kayce is an American animal trainer. She has worked with dogs, horses, farm animals, zoo animals and dolphins. She has developed her own training system -- SATS. She is a great believer in the benefits of Bridge and Target in animal training.

She comes over to Britain frequently and I have attended some of her seminars. They helped Rooskie a great deal. In fact the difference they made to his work was almost unbelievable. Kayce has her own web site. Just click on the link.

Here are a few things Kayce has to say about my books.

_________________________________________

"I loved all three books I have read by Mary S. Moffat. I don't think one is better than any other -- they are just different.  I do not have a favorite. Each is full of its own charm. They entertained my evenings whilst in Yorkshire -- bringing me a richer appreciation of my visit there. Mary's books bring history, geography and diverse cultures to life.

Aimed at young people approaching adulthood, Mary's books combine entertaining plots with rich historical, geographical and cultural information on their settings. They pulled me along, page after page.  I have visited several of the places featured in Mary's books, and found fascinating insight and background in each -- bolstered by maps, photographs, illustrations and more. I will refer back to this information repeatedly. Each story creates a different ambiance, and is set in a different time. Each subtly interweaves history and story.

Solway Sleuth-Hounds tells of a young aristocrat who leaves all behind to marry her gypsy love, only to lose him to an injustice. The story of how she fights to save his life, whilst assisting the Scottish Laird, filled several pleasant evenings.

Canine Cavalier is about the adventures of a timid girl, and the lost dog of King Charles II.

Ghost Dog of the Solway intertwines the tale of a dog from a long past Nordic settlement, with the story of two young girls, learning to find their ways into adulthood, with the help of a spunky Yorkshire terrier, named Filey.

I think many young people would enjoy these books. Many adults such as myself, as well!"
